As a renowned hospitality destination within the Marriott International portfolio, Gaylord Opryland combines a rich heritage of Southern hospitality with modern luxury, offering guests memorable experiences in an inviting and vibrant atmosphere. The resort features beautifully landscaped indoor gardens, multiple dining options, and extensive meeting and event facilities that support a variety of corporate, social, and entertainment functions throughout the year.

The Gaylord Opryland Resort is currently seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join their team in the role of Special Events Coordinator. This full-time, non-management position is integral to ensuring the success of various special events and leisure experiences hosted at the resort, such as ICE!, Best of Florida Christmas, and SummerFest. The role involves supporting the operation and coordination of these events by monitoring critical elements like lighting, audiovisual setups, cleanliness, and system performance to maintain high aesthetic and functional standards.

In this role, you will work closely with the Special Events Manager and Assistant Managers, assisting in training and supervising employees involved with special events. You will learn and utilize specialized software systems related to ticketing, retail, inventory management, and space utilization, ensuring smooth logistical operations. Part of your duties will include resolving any financial, inventory, or numeric discrepancies to maintain operational accuracy.

This position requires an individual who embodies Marriott International's commitment to exceptional guest service, safety, and professionalism. You will greet and engage guests with genuine appreciation, anticipate and fulfill their service needs, and establish positive working relationships with colleagues to foster a collaborative team environment. You will also uphold company policies, report any unsafe conditions, maintain confidentiality, and protect the company’s assets.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and at least one year of related work experience, although supervisory experience is not required. This role involves physical activity such as standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, and handling objects weighing up to 25 pounds. It offers an opportunity to develop skills in event management and hospitality within a leading global hotel brand, with access to continuous career advancement and growth.

Gaylord Hotels and Marriott International are committed to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace, celebrating the unique backgrounds and talents of their associates. In joining Gaylord Opryland Resort, you become part of a global team dedicated to delivering creative and heartfelt service underpinned by a supportive work culture that values innovation and excellence.
