We are currently seeking a full-time Special Events Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This non-management role offers a pay rate of $18.50 per hour and involves assisting in the coordination and operation of all Special Events and Leisure Experience activities, such as ICE!, Best of Florida Christmas, SummerFest, and similar events. The Special Events Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of events by monitoring the operational status, lighting, audiovisual setups, cleanliness, and system functionality during events, addressing and correcting any aesthetic or technical deficiencies promptly. This position also involves supporting the Special Events Manager and Assistant Managers by following training guidelines and assisting with the training of special events employees. The coordinator will become proficient in operating various software systems related to ticketing, retail, inventory management, and space usage, while also resolving financial, inventory, and numeric discrepancies.
In addition to operational responsibilities, this role requires adherence to company policies and procedures, including reporting accidents or unsafe work conditions, maintaining professional appearance and confidentiality, and protecting company assets. A key component of the position is delivering exceptional guest service by welcoming and acknowledging all guests, anticipating their needs, and expressing genuine appreciation. Effective communication using professional language and telephone etiquette is essential. The Special Events Coordinator must cultivate positive working relationships, support team goals, and comply with quality assurance standards, while identifying opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, productivity, quality, and cost savings.
This role involves physical activities such as standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods and moving, lifting, or carrying objects up to 25 pounds without assistance. Other reasonable duties may be assigned as needed. The position is ideal for candidates with a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of related work experience. No supervisory experience is required, and no specific licenses or certifications are necessary.
