This position at Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center offers an exciting opportunity to be part of the dynamic team focused on enhancing guest experiences through operative support in exhibits and live shows. The role is non-management and offers a full-time schedule, with day and evening shifts available, reflecting the resort's dedication to flexible work hours that meet both operational needs and employee preferences. The job responsibilities extend beyond guest interaction to include selling tickets and merchandise using suggestive sales techniques, thus contributing to the resort's commercial goals while maintaining excellent customer service standards. Handling cash transactions through POS systems demands accuracy and adherence to established cash control procedures to safeguard company assets. Your role will also require effective communication with guests via multiple channels such as phone, personal interactions, and electronic inquiries, ensuring prompt and courteous responses.
Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining a professional appearance and ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, and confidentiality requirements. The role demands physical endurance, as tasks include standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods, and the ability to move objects up to 25 pounds. Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in customer service or hospitality preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic math skills for handling cash and transactions
- Ability to work flexible hours including day and evening shifts
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time
- Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds
Job Duties
- Provide customer service in the areas of operations for various exhibits and shows
- Operate attraction/event by assisting guests to safely enjoy their experience
- Sell tickets to attraction/event by providing accurate information in a suggestive selling manner
- Sell retail merchandise utilizing suggestive selling methods and maintaining displays as needed
- Operate cash register and POS system to sell tickets or merchandise
- Responsible for cash bank and deposits following established cash control procedures
- Answer guest inquiries via phone, personally or electronically in a prompt, courteous manner
- Direct guests to proper location with clear instructions
