The US Foods CDL-A Driver role is designed for motivated individuals who are ready to join a dynamic team and take their career to the next level. Drivers are expected to safely operate commercial vehicles to deliver food products to various customers while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. This position offers a competitive compensation package, with earnings up to $130,000 in the first year and a $15,000 retention bonus for eligible new hires. The work schedule is Monday through Saturday, with two days off, though Saturday work is required. Dispatch times typically occur between midnight and 5:00 AM, requiring flexibility and dedication.

As a US Foods driver, responsibilities include driving trucks safely to customer locations, unloading products using equipment such as pallet jacks or two-wheelers, verifying delivery accuracy with customers, handling collections and payments when necessary, and maintaining professional customer service standards. Drivers also conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are in optimal condition. Physical demands of the role include the ability to lift and carry 20 to 80 pounds of product repeatedly during shifts and the capability to work in various weather conditions with frequent stops.

Candidates must meet essential requirements such as registering with the FMCSA Clearinghouse, holding a valid CDL Class A license with necessary endorsements, and having a minimum of six months of commercial driving experience or three months in food or beverage delivery. The role may require manual transmission operation, preferred but not always mandatory. Proficiency in English for communication and understanding of traffic signs is necessary.

Job Requirements

  • Must have valid CDL Class A license with required endorsements

  • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs repetitively
  • Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather with frequent stops
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Ability to read and communicate in English

Job Qualifications

  • Valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
  • Minimum of six months commercial driving experience or three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry
  • Ability to operate manual transmission preferred
  • Must be able to read and communicate in English
  • Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse
  • At least 21 years of age

Job Duties

  • Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times
  • Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas
  • Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures
  • Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable
  • Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience
  • Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
