Job Description
O'Reilly Auto Parts is a leading retailer that provides high-quality automotive parts, tools, and accessories to professional customers and automotive enthusiasts. Known for its strong commitment to customer service and operational excellence, O'Reilly Auto Parts operates a vast network of stores across the United States, delivering automotive products efficiently and reliably. The company's culture fosters growth and career development by promoting from within and encouraging employees to advance in their careers. The delivery specialist role is a vital part of this ecosystem, ensuring that parts and products reach customers promptly, supporting the overall customer experience and business operations.
The Delivery Specialist position at O'Reilly Auto Parts is essential in maintaining smooth and efficient delivery operations within the store's service area. This role involves operating company vehicles safely and efficiently to deliver parts and products to professional customers. The delivery specialist is also responsible for handling money collections on cash-on-delivery transactions and managing customer returns such as new parts, warranty claims, and core returns. Using the delivery fleet management handheld devices, the specialist processes deliveries, captures customer acknowledgments through signatures, updates vehicle mileage, and completes daily vehicle inspections to ensure safety and reliability.
Beyond the core delivery responsibilities, the Delivery Specialist is entrusted with maintaining the cleanliness, fuel levels, and security of delivery vehicles and related equipment, including keys, fleet credit cards, and collected monies. The specialist also communicates with store management regarding any customer issues, special requests, vehicle maintenance requirements, or accidents, demonstrating a proactive approach to operational challenges. Occasionally, this role may involve assisting customers in the store, serving as a cashier, merchandising, stocking inventory, and running errands, which adds variety and engagement to the daily routine.
O'Reilly Auto Parts highly values bilingual candidates, especially those fluent in Spanish, to better serve a diverse customer base. The company emphasizes safe driving practices and requires that the delivery specialist holds a valid state driver's license and meets the company's driving eligibility standards. Familiarity with automotive parts and the ability to operate other light store equipment are preferred, enhancing the specialist's effectiveness and versatility.
This full-time role offers competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance, a stock purchase plan, and a 401(k) plan with employer contributions starting on the first day. Additional opportunities such as tuition educational assistance and health and wellbeing programs support employees' personal and professional growth, reflecting O'Reilly Auto Parts’ dedication to workplace wellness and development.
