Job Description

O'Reilly Auto Parts is a leading retailer in the automotive aftermarket industry, committed to providing high-quality parts, tools, and services to professional customers and everyday vehicle owners alike. With a rich history of growth and stability, O'Reilly Auto Parts is dedicated to nurturing a work environment where employees can thrive and grow their careers. Known for their strong promote-from-within philosophy, the company encourages personal and professional development, making it an excellent place for those seeking long-term career opportunities. The company offers a comprehensive total compensation package including competitive wages, paid time off, stock purchase plans, 401k with employer contributions starting from day one, and medical, dental, and vision insurance options, alongside various wellbeing programs and tuition assistance to help employees advance their education and skills.

The Delivery Specialist role is vital within O'Reilly Auto Parts, serving as the key link between stores and professional customers through the safe operation and maintenance of store vehicles. This position involves delivering automotive parts and products efficiently while ensuring the security and upkeep of company vehicles and assets. Delivery Specialists play a multifaceted role that goes beyond transportation, including handling customer returns, collecting payments on C.O.D. deliveries, and providing general customer service support, sometimes assisting within the store environment as needed. Bilingual candidates, particularly those fluent in Spanish, are highly encouraged to apply, reflecting the company’s commitment to diverse and inclusive hiring practices.

This full-time position requires individuals who are adaptable, safety-conscious, and customer-focused. Delivery Specialists must be proficient in using handheld delivery fleet management devices to process transactions, capture signatures, update mileage, and conduct daily vehicle inspections prior to starting deliveries. Maintaining cleanliness and operational readiness of delivery vehicles is mandatory, alongside securely managing vehicle keys, fuel cards, delivery devices, and any funds collected during their shift. Attention to detail and strong communication skills are essential, as Delivery Specialists need to promptly report any vehicle maintenance needs, damages, accidents, or specific customer requests to store management to ensure smooth operations.

Additional duties include general stock maintenance such as sweeping, stocking, merchandising, running errands, and core returns. The role may also require occasional customer support as a cashier or sales associate in the store, depending on business needs. This dynamic and varied position offers employees the chance to engage directly with customers, build relationships, and contribute to the seamless functioning of O'Reilly Auto Parts’ retail and delivery operations. The successful candidate should have a clean driving record that meets the company’s standards, a valid state driver’s license, and the ability to meet company driving eligibility requirements. Overall, this role is suited for self-motivated individuals who enjoy working independently, have strong interpersonal skills, and are eager to contribute to a respected company with a commitment to growth, opportunity, and customer satisfaction.
