The Delivery Specialist role at O'Reilly Auto Parts is a pivotal position within the store operations framework, responsible for the safe and timely delivery of automotive parts and products to professional customers. This position requires the use of company vehicles to transport goods while ensuring exceptional customer service and adherence to safety standards. As a Delivery Specialist, you will encompass several duties including operating delivery fleet management devices, maintaining vehicle cleanliness and security, and handling monetary transactions such as collecting cash on delivery (COD) payments. Additionally, you will manage customer returns, communicate operational needs or issues to store management, and assist with various store-related tasks as business needs dictate.

Job Requirements

  • Must possess a legally required state driver’s license
  • Driving record must meet the standard set in the company's 14/18-point record system
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences
  • Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing delivery situations
  • Willingness to maintain and secure company vehicles, keys, devices, and monies
  • Availability to assist with additional store duties as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences

  • Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing delivery situations
  • Must possess a legally required state driver’s license and meet company mandated driving eligibility requirements
  • Driving record must meet the standard set in the company's 14/18-point record system
  • Familiarity with automotive parts is desired
  • Ability to operate light store equipment
  • Fluency in multiple languages is highly desired especially Spanish

Job Duties

  • Operate company vehicles to deliver parts and products to customers in a safe and efficient manner
  • Use delivery fleet management hand-held devices to process deliveries, capture customer signatures, update vehicle mileage, and complete daily vehicle inspections
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform daily inspections prior to operation
  • Secure delivery vehicles, keys, fuel/fleet credit cards, hand-held devices, and monies collected at all times
  • Pick up customer returns such as new, warranty, cores, and complete driver return slips
  • Communicate customer issues or special needs to store management
  • Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or damage to store manager immediately
  • Fill fuel tank and secure vehicle at end of day
  • Clock in and out according to company policy
  • Perform additional duties including customer service, stocking, merchandising, running errands, and cashier assistance as required
