Job Description
Unity Foods is a leading foodservice distributor committed to delivering high-quality food products and superior customer service to foodservice operators across the United States. The company specializes in distributing a wide variety of food and beverage products to restaurants, cafeterias, schools, and other institutions, ensuring timely and efficient delivery while maintaining product integrity. Unity Foods values its employees by fostering a supportive work environment focused on safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction. The organization is dedicated to growing its workforce with individuals who are motivated, accountable, and ready to contribute to their mission of being a trusted partner to their customers.
The Delivery Driver position at Unity Foods is a crucial role supporting the company’s distribution network by driving a 16-foot box truck or van to deliver and unload various products to customers following assigned route schedules and time windows. This role requires an individual with strong customer service skills who can work under various conditions including early morning shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays. Drivers are expected to comply with state and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and Unity Foods policies to ensure safety and full regulatory adherence.
As a Delivery Driver, your key responsibilities will include delivering products accurately and efficiently, unloading merchandise either by hand or using hand carts, and placing products in designated customer storage areas. You will be frequently lifting, pushing, or moving products weighing between 1 and 80 pounds and working in various weather conditions. Verifying deliveries with customers, collecting payments when required, and documenting any discrepancies or returns will also be part of your daily tasks. Additionally, this role involves conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, maintaining the assigned equipment, and actively participating in company meetings.
This position demands strong physical stamina, excellent organizational skills, and a customer-centric approach to ensure all deliveries meet company standards and customer expectations. Unity Foods emphasizes the importance of independence and accountability, so drivers must be capable of planning work activities and solving problems with minimal supervision. The role offers a dynamic work environment where no two days are the same, providing opportunities to develop logistics knowledge and build relationships within the foodservice industry.
