Job Description

AmeriGas Propane, Inc. is the nation's leading propane company, founded in 1959 and serving more than 1.5 million residential, commercial, industrial, and motor fuel propane customers across the United States. With over 6,500 dedicated professionals working from more than 1,800 distribution points, AmeriGas distributes over 1 billion gallons of propane annually. As a well-established company in the energy sector, AmeriGas focuses on safety, innovation, and outstanding customer service, ensuring the reliable delivery of propane to customers nationwide. AmeriGas is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace and maintains a strong policy of equal opportunity employment, creating an environment where employees from all backgrounds can thrive.

The Delivery Representative role at AmeriGas is a vital position within the company’s operations. This full-time opportunity offers a competitive hourly wage of $28.50, with prospects for performance-based bonuses or commissions depending on the individual’s role and achievements. Delivery Representatives play a crucial part in the company’s promise to safely and efficiently deliver propane to customers, ensuring their satisfaction and safety. The job centers around operating propane delivery trucks along assigned routes, filling residential and commercial bulk tanks, and delivering propane cylinders to a variety of customers. This position demands a safety-first mindset, strict adherence to federal and state regulations, and consistent use of personal protective equipment.

Employees in this role benefit from a supportive work environment with encouraging career advancement opportunities, ongoing safety incentives, and an employee referral program. AmeriGas provides uniforms to Delivery Representatives and offers extensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as 401(k) plans with company matches. The position involves working outdoors in various weather conditions, requiring physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds and a willingness to work flexible shifts of 8 to 12 hours. Safety compliance is paramount, as Delivery Representatives must complete DOT physicals, drug testing, and background checks before employment. The role is designed to ensure employees go home safely every day, a core value for AmeriGas. Home every day is a significant benefit given the local delivery routes.

Joining AmeriGas as a Delivery Representative means becoming part of a reputable organization that values safety, customer satisfaction, and employee success. This role is perfect for individuals who are customer service-oriented, energetic, and safety-minded. Prospective employees should have a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with hazmat and tanker endorsements and maintain an acceptable driving record. AmeriGas is a drug-free workplace that requires pre-employment drug screening and ongoing substance abuse testing, and prohibits the use of medical marijuana by employees in safety-sensitive positions. Candidates who meet these standards will find a fulfilling and stable career path at AmeriGas, backed by comprehensive benefits, paid holidays, paid time off, and the company’s commitment to workplace fairness and inclusion.
