Job Description
Domino's Pizza is a globally recognized leader in the pizza delivery and takeout industry, renowned for its commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and innovation. Established over three decades ago, Domino's has grown to become the go-to choice for millions of families and individuals seeking quick, delicious, and affordable meal options. The company prides itself on maintaining a dynamic work environment where flexibility, growth opportunities, and team spirit are paramount. With multiple locations spanning across Northern Oregon and the nation, Domino's Pizza continues to offer rewarding employment that caters to both temporary part-time workers and those seeking a long-term career path within the food service industry.
This particular opportunity is for delivery drivers within Domino's stores located in Northern Oregon, where the minimum hourly wage is set at $15.95. Drivers also benefit from receiving credit card tips, cash tips, and a partial mileage reimbursement at the end of each shift, with wages paid bi-monthly either by check or direct deposit. The company emphasizes flexibility; employees can set schedules that work with their lifestyle, whether they are students, secondary job holders, or professionals looking for supplemental income. Domino's is continuously expanding at a rapid rate, offering plenty of advancement opportunities — from delivery roles to management positions, and potentially even franchise ownership.
The delivery driver role at Domino's Pizza is both demanding and rewarding. It requires proficiency in navigation and time management, as drivers must efficiently locate addresses within their delivery area and navigate diverse terrains, including multi-story buildings. Not only are drivers expected to deliver pizzas promptly, but they are also tasked with maintaining excellent customer service by communicating effectively with customers and co-workers. On the operational side, all team members engage in duties such as handling food preparation equipment, stocking ingredients, processing orders, and keeping the facility clean.
Working conditions vary and include exposure to a range of temperatures — from the cooler's 36 degrees to the warmer 90+ degree areas — exposure to food odors and dust, and the physical demands of standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting heavy ingredients, and carrying bulky items like trays of dough and cans of sauce. Reliable communication skills are essential, including the ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions, use telephones, computers, and other equipment. Safety and adherence to regulatory requirements are critical, particularly for drivers using personal insured vehicles.
Domino's Pizza actively fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace where all employees are valued for their unique talents and contributions. The company is an equal opportunity employer and provides accommodations throughout the hiring process to ensure all candidates can succeed. Medical, dental, and vision insurance options become available to employees who have worked for at least a year and average 32 hours per week, alongside state-mandated sick pay. Part-time positions are the norm, but employees with the right commitment and communication can transition to full-time roles based on store needs and availability.
Many current franchise owners and corporate leaders at Domino's started as delivery drivers, showcasing the company’s commitment to internal growth and development. The delivery driver position offers an excellent entry point into the food service and hospitality industry for individuals eager to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused setting with ample opportunities for professional advancement and personal development.
