Job Description
McGill is a well-established company specializing in hydraulic components and solutions, supporting various industries with top-quality products and services. As a firm committed to customer satisfaction and operational excellence, McGill has built a reputation for reliability, innovation, and comprehensive support. The company operates in multiple locations and emphasizes safety, teamwork, and skill development to ensure high standards are met consistently.
The Delivery Driver / Hose Fabricator role at McGill is an integral, hands-on position that balances between delivering products and fabricating hose assemblies in the shop. This dynamic role involves making timely and accurate deliveries to customers and other McGill branches while maintaining safety and professionalism on the road. In addition to delivery duties, the role requires hands-on fabrication skills such as building, testing, and tagging custom hose assemblies that keep production moving smoothly.
Candidates for this position must be reliable, safety-conscious, and deeply committed to customer service. The ideal employee will have a strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning, with a willingness to cross-train in multiple functions including driving, shipping and receiving, and hose fabrication. The job offers a mix of time spent driving and working in the shop setting, providing variety and skill development opportunities.
Key responsibilities within this role include planning and preparing delivery routes and orders, loading and unloading materials safely, conducting vehicle upkeep and inspections, and maintaining accurate delivery records. The position also involves supporting shipping and receiving operations during downtime and managing inventory accurately through proper documentation. Fabrication-related duties encompass identifying correct hose and fitting types, measuring and cutting hoses, assembling and crimping hose assemblies to exact specifications, and performing quality testing and tagging before shipment. The candidate will also operate warehouse equipment and potentially a forklift, with training provided as necessary.
Working closely with counter sales associates, this role fosters collaboration to ensure the best customer outcomes, with possibilities for cross-training to expand skills further. McGill values team players who are attentive, organized, and able to communicate effectively with both customers and colleagues.
This is a permanent position suitable for candidates committed to developing their skills in a fast-paced, customer-oriented manufacturing and distribution environment. While prior experience in warehouse, delivery, or fabrication roles is preferred, McGill provides training for the right candidates who demonstrate reliability and a willingness to learn. The company is an equal opportunity employer and requires that candidates be authorized to work in the United States, pass background checks, and drug screenings as applicable. High school diploma or GED is required, with additional technical training considered a plus.
