This role is for a DELIVERY PACKER/DRIVER who will play an essential part in maintaining the bakery's reputation for quality and reliability through efficient and careful product handling and timely deliveries. The position is part-time, requiring availability for 3-4 days per week with mandatory weekend shifts. Shifts start very early in the morning, between 1:30 to 2:00 am, emphasizing punctuality and commitment. The shift duration usually ranges from 6 to 7 hours, concluding between 7:30 and 9:00 am, influenced by the workload, season, and traffic conditions.

The delivery packer/driver will spend the first part of the shift physically packing bread and pastries with meticulous attention to avoid damage, followed by loading delivery vans. These deliveries cover a wide geographic area including North Shore and Boston, necessitating the operation of bakery vehicles courteously and responsibly. The role requires physical stamina, as much of the early morning shift is spent standing, bending, and lifting items up to 45 pounds regularly.

A&J King values team players with organization skills and the ability to multitask effectively. Applicants must bring prior driving experience with cargo vans (without requiring a CDL), possess a reliable phone with GPS functionality, and be willing to learn about the bakery's product range for proper order identification. Clean driving records and work eligibility in the US are mandatory. Compensation starts at $21.50 per hour, including a base wage which meets or exceeds minimum wage and offers an additional bonus of approximately $3.50+ per hour based on bakery activity.
