Job Description
Courier Express is a well-established transportation and distribution company headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, with over 30 service centers located primarily throughout the Southeastern United States. Founded in 1985, Courier Express has grown steadily, driven by a commitment to delivering superior levels of service combined with highly flexible distribution options. They specialize in providing last mile delivery services, ensuring that goods are delivered efficiently and reliably across a large geographic area including Tallahassee, Quincy, Midway, Chipley, and surrounding regions. The company prides itself on its elite team of transportation, warehousing, and management professionals who collaboratively work towards ensuring customer satisfaction and operational excellence. With a focus on fostering strong logistics partnerships and driving value for clients, Courier Express aims to maintain its position as a premier transportation provider nationwide.
This role is for independent contractor drivers and couriers who own and operate cargo vans, sprinter vans, or large transit vans. The contractors will be responsible for completing last mile distribution delivery routes Monday through Friday. This is an excellent opportunity for those seeking flexible work as independent contractors rather than traditional employment. Couriers can expect to earn between $900 and $1300 weekly in settlement payments, which fluctuate based on vehicle size and the number of pieces delivered. The company explicitly ensures that no overnight routes are assigned, supporting a consistent daytime work schedule. Drivers must provide their own vehicles and possess a smartphone, either Android or iPhone, to facilitate communication and navigation. The position requires individuals to be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record with no more than three violations in the past three years. To comply with safety and legal standards, drivers must also pass a drug screening and a felony background check. Physical capability is essential as the role involves lifting and carrying packages of various sizes and weights. Additionally, contractors are required to maintain appropriate auto insurance coverage with specified limits, including liability coverage adjusted to the vehicle’s gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR). Overall, this role is well-suited for motivated individuals seeking a steady, independent driving opportunity with a reputable and growth-oriented logistics company.
