Delivery Drivers directly represent the company’s brand values of quality, reliability, and customer care in every interaction at the customer’s doorstep. The role is positioned within the Logistics Department and reports directly to the Logistics Supervisor. Candidates can expect a competitive base pay starting at $20.00 per hour, with opportunities to earn up to an additional $2.00 per hour based on delivery volume and hours worked. Additional earning potentials include tips averaging $1.00 to $3.00 per hour, reimbursement for cell phone usage, and mileage reimbursed at $0.725 per mile, further incentivizing efficiency and service quality. On average, delivery drivers complete approximately 4.5 deliveries per hour, covering roughly four miles per delivery, resulting in an effective hourly wage well above the base rate when factoring in reimbursements and tips.

Drivers are expected to arrive at their scheduled shift fully prepared, with a fully charged smartphone and adequate fuel, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. The role involves verifying delivery items, following customer instructions using a dedicated app, collecting return items such as bags and ice packs as part of the company’s sustainability effort, and maintaining clear and consistent communication with dispatch to streamline operations. Thistle also requires drivers to adhere strictly to safety guidelines and standard operating procedures to maintain a safe workplace for themselves and the community they serve. A flexible work schedule is necessary due to delivery demands, including some evenings, early mornings, weekends, and holidays. Physically, the role requires the ability to lift, carry, pull, or push objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
