We are currently seeking Delivery Drivers and Sandwich Makers who embody the spirit of being freaky fast, friendly, and committed team players. This dynamic role is vital to maintaining the Jimmy John's reputation for speed and quality. Delivery Drivers are responsible for ensuring sandwiches reach customers promptly and in perfect condition. They also play a crucial part inside the store by preparing sandwiches, managing cash transactions, restocking supplies, and maintaining a clean and welcoming atmosphere.

The job offers a fast-paced, competitive environment without the inconvenience of early mornings or late nights, making it an ideal part-time or full-time position. Schedules are flexible to accommodate different lifestyles, with consistent delivery routes that keep the work manageable and predictable. Drivers take home cash earnings daily, and with a limited delivery area, they avoid long drives that are typical of app-based gig work. The physical demands involve standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and occasional climbing or balancing as part of regular tasks. The work environment features moderate noise and occasional exposure to mechanical parts, but no greasy kitchen work, ensuring employees leave smelling fresh.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a valid driver’s license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Current automobile insurance
  • Clean driving record
  • Willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed
  • Physical stamina to work 30-40 hours per week
  • Ability to pass sandwich making tests
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and professional appearance
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, talk, and listen during work hours

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food service or delivery preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to follow directions and maintain food safety standards
  • Ability to pass sandwich making tests
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, and understanding basic fractions
  • Physical capability to meet the demands of the job including standing, walking, lifting, and reaching
  • Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Greet customers, take orders, operate the cash register, collect payments from customers, and other cash handling duties
  • Deliver sandwich orders to customers in a safe, courteous, and timely manner in the established delivery area only
  • Accept payments from customers
  • Work with management to reconcile cash from delivery sales at the end of shift
  • Make fast, accurate, and consistent sandwiches
  • Comply with all portion sizes, recipes, systems, and procedures
  • Must be able to pass sandwich tests at the end of the first two weeks of employment and at future testing times
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the restaurant including all tables, floors, windows, beverage station, and restrooms
  • Fill out systems and procedures with 100 percent accuracy and integrity
  • Always maintain professional appearance in compliance with the dress code
  • Display a positive attitude and enthusiastic approach to all assignments
  • Perform other related duties as required
