Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year commercial driving experience required
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds regularly and move more than 100 pounds frequently
  • Ability to perform all essential job functions including driving light vehicles under 26,000 pounds GVW
  • Must hold a valid driver's license

Job Duties

  • Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures
  • Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes to ensure proper working condition
  • Report on any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles
  • Properly document goods delivered or loaded
  • Load and unload trucks
  • Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers
  • Maintain records such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements in accordance with regulations
  • Read maps and follow written or verbal geographic directions
  • Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to bases or other vehicles using communication devices
