Job Description

Individual FoodService (IFS) is a leading food service distributor based in Southern California, renowned for its comprehensive and reliable delivery services to a wide range of customers including restaurants, fast food outlets, caterers, grocery stores, bakeries, pizzerias, schools, universities, hospitality establishments, healthcare facilities, government agencies, wholesalers, distributors, and janitorial service providers. With a strong reputation for building lasting client relationships, IFS achieves this by gaining a deep understanding of each client's operational needs, offering an extensive catalog of top brands and products, and utilizing profound industry expertise to provide tailored solutions that optimize service and value. IFS is committed to being a great employer by valuing its employees, embracing change, and striving for continual improvement in all areas of business. They uphold equal opportunity employment, ensuring a nondiscriminatory hiring process and provide accommodations for those with disabilities.

The Delivery Driver (Non-CDL) role at IFS is an essential position responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods to various client locations across Southern California. This is a union position starting at $23.83 per hour, reflecting the established union collective bargaining agreement. The successful candidate will operate and maintain delivery vehicles — specifically straight trucks (bobtail 24ft to 26ft) — while adhering strictly to safety regulations established by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC). The role requires excellent organizational abilities to pick up, load, secure, transport, and unload goods. Drivers ensure accurate delivery by confirming shipment contents against manifest documents, maintaining detailed logs, and reporting any issues directly to management. The position demands proficiency with GPS and other routing software to follow predetermined routes efficiently, strong physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds and operate equipment such as electric lifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and dollies, and a professional attitude to remain composed under pressure. Drivers are also responsible for performing pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintaining a valid DOT medical card and clean driving record in compliance with company safety standards. IFS offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, employee assistance programs, 401(k) retirement savings plan, and more, supporting the health and well-being of associates and their families. This role offers a meaningful opportunity for experienced local delivery drivers who take pride in safety, reliability, and customer service to join a company focused on growth and employee development.
