The delivery driver role at Kentucky Eagle is vital for ensuring the successful and timely distribution of products to retail customers. This position involves operating vans or box trucks with a gross vehicle weight ranging from 10,000 to 26,000 pounds. The driver is responsible for making approximately 25 deliveries per day, verifying truck inventory before and after routes, and ensuring that all products reach customers safely and efficiently. Maintaining positive customer relationships is a crucial aspect of the job, as this role serves as the face of Kentucky Eagle to retail accounts. Drivers are also required to verify customer ABC licenses to comply with regulatory standards and manage customer invoices and payments when necessary.
Safety and compliance are top priorities for Kentucky Eagle drivers. Pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections must be performed rigorously to identify any maintenance or mechanical issues promptly. Drivers must operate vehicles safely within the guidelines set forth by the company as well as federal and state regulations. Reporting any vehicle problems to the Operations Supervisor or Fleet Manager is essential for maintaining the fleet's integrity and minimizing disruptions to delivery schedules.
Overall, this delivery driver role is well-suited for candidates with prior delivery experience and a strong customer service orientation, preferably in a business-to-business environment. The position demands physical endurance, as drivers must be capable of repetitive lifting of up to 50 pounds and able to operate two-wheel carts with loads up to 350 pounds. Proficiency with handheld technology like iPads and portable printers is also required to manage deliveries and transactional documentation efficiently. Kentucky Eagle fosters an inclusive and equal opportunity work environment, embracing diversity and fairness across all levels of the organization. Individuals seeking a stable and rewarding career in the beverage distribution industry with a company that values its employees' contributions should consider applying for this role.
