Job Description
This job opportunity is offered by a dynamic company specializing in delivering essential materials and products to customers in the electrical, screen printing, and digital graphics industries. The company operates with a strong commitment to customer service excellence and maintains a reliable logistics infrastructure to support its clients effectively. It is known for fostering a supportive work environment that respects safety, efficiency, and professional growth. This full-time position offers an hourly wage starting from $17.00, making it an attractive role for those seeking a steady income alongside a chance to engage in both driving and warehouse work.
The role of Delivery Driver/Warehouse Associate involves a dual set of responsibilities that blend driving duties with warehouse management tasks. This hybrid role requires a candidate who is versatile, safety-conscious, and customer-focused. The primary responsibility involves delivering materials and equipment along predetermined routes with a notable aspect of longer routes that include overnight stays, typically once a week. This ensures timely delivery to customers while maintaining a high standard of care and attention on the roadway. Due to specific customer demands, bilingual candidates fluent in English and Spanish are preferred to facilitate effective communication and service.
In addition to delivery tasks, the associate will also perform warehouse duties. This includes using Radio Frequency (RF) scanning systems to manage inventory, stock supplies, and prepare orders for shipment or delivery. The job demands proficiency in handling various warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, carts, and hand-trucks, making it essential for the candidate to have a solid grasp of warehouse protocols and safety standards. Accuracy in verifying shipment contents against manifests and invoices is vital to maintain operational integrity.
Safety and compliance form the foundation of this role. Applicants must have a clean seven-year driving record with no history of DWI or DUI and be capable of passing pre-employment drug screening. The job also necessitates the physical capability to lift loads up to 50 pounds and demonstrates excellent map-reading skills to navigate routes efficiently. Active listening and effective communication skills are crucial in collaborating with supervisors and resolving potential delivery or warehouse issues. Proven experience is highly beneficial, especially one year of delivery driving and two years of warehouse expertise including materials handling and shipping/receiving.
The standard work schedule is an eight-hour shift from Monday to Friday, predominantly day shifts with occasional overnight stays. The company offers benefits such as 401(k) plans with matching contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, and paid time off. These perks underscore the company’s commitment to employee well-being and long-term career satisfaction within a stable work environment. This role is based in San Antonio, TX 78218, and requires the applicant to have a driver’s license free of DUI or DWI history to meet legal and company standards.
