The available role at HD Supply is for a Delivery Driver who will play a crucial role in the company’s supply chain and customer service operations. This position involves making timely and safe deliveries of merchandise to customers, often using company-provided or rental vehicles, typically box trucks or similar equipment. The Delivery Driver is responsible not only for transporting orders but also ensuring the proper loading and unloading of goods using a variety of material handling equipment. The driver acts as a key customer service liaison, addressing questions or concerns related to orders and delivery status professionally and courteously.

This position requires adherence to Department of Transportation regulations, including performing routine pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to maintain safety standards. The driver must follow assigned routes carefully, manage delivery schedules efficiently, and maintain accurate records for both vehicle and order documentation. Communication with the distribution center is ongoing to handle delays or issues such as traffic congestion or incorrect orders, making adaptability and problem-solving essential skills. Overnight travel may occasionally be required but is less than 10% of the time.

HD Supply emphasizes a strong safety culture; therefore, an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR) status and valid driver’s license are mandatory. The company continuously monitors these records to ensure compliance and company safety policies. The driver role demands physical stamina as it involves prolonged periods of walking, standing, lifting heavy or awkward items weighing more than 50 pounds, and handling potentially challenging environmental conditions such as temperature extremes, loud noises, and exposure to machinery.

Candidates with prior experience delivering merchandise using box trucks or similar vehicles and with at least one year of experience operating material handling equipment will find this role well-suited to their skills. Additionally, experience in wholesale distribution and a clean safety record with no more than two minor accidents or moving violations in the past three years are highly preferred.
