The role of a US Foods Delivery Driver is vital to the company's success and the satisfaction of its customers. These drivers are the key faces of the organization on the road, delivering products efficiently and with professionalism. The delivery driver position is an excellent career opportunity for individuals who want a rewarding job in the foodservice supply chain industry, with an expected pay of $35.63 per hour plus component pay based on cases, mileage, and stops. Drivers must uphold the company's standards of safety and customer service while operating commercial vehicles safely and reliably. The job requires a valid CDL Class A license with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications, with preference given to those who can operate manual transmissions. With a minimum of six months commercial driving experience or three months in food and beverage delivery, drivers are responsible for accurate and timely deliveries, customer interactions, and managing necessary documentation and payments.

Safety is paramount in this role; drivers actively participate in safety teams, complete required trainings including the US Foods Driver Onboarding program, and engage in mentoring new drivers. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and carry up to 80+ pounds repeatedly and to withstand varying weather conditions while making multiple stops. Drivers must register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse to comply with Department of Transportation regulations. Job Requirements

  • valid CDL Class A license with endorsements and DOT qualifications
  • minimum six months commercial driving experience or three months in food/beverage delivery

  • comfortable driving in inclement weather and making frequent stops
  • must be at least 21 years old
  • ability to read and communicate in English

Job Qualifications

  • must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
  • minimum of six months commercial driving experience or three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry
  • ability to read and communicate in English

  • great customer service and communication skills

Job Duties

  • participate in the safety performance team and ensure that safety is a key focus
  • train and mentor new drivers on company policies, procedures, and monitor compliance/performance
  • perform customer site visits to determine feasibility of delivery
  • partner with the night warehouse supervisors on safety and visual aids/demonstrations
  • perform post-accident ride-alongs with drivers to assist in identifying root cause analysis and re-training as necessary
  • participate in offsite training and developmental opportunities
  • safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled delivery times
  • carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas
  • verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures
  • handle collections and payments from customers when applicable
  • professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance client experience
