Job Description
Factory Motor Parts Co. (FMP) is a well-established automotive parts distributor with deep roots dating back to 1945 when it was founded as Elliott Auto Supply Co., Inc. Since its inception as a single location in Minneapolis, it has grown into a prominent multi-generational, family-owned enterprise with over 160 locations spanning 23 states. FMP prides itself on offering premium original equipment and well-known name brand automotive parts, positioning itself as a comprehensive resource for professional service centers, dealerships, fleets, and wholesale customers. This enduring legacy of excellence and commitment to service underscores the company's status as a leader in the automotive parts industry, driven by values of reliability, professionalism, and customer satisfaction.
As a Delivery Driver at Factory Motor Parts, you will serve as the "Face of Factory Motor Parts," embodying the company's dedication to exemplary service and professionalism. Your role is crucial in ensuring that merchandise is delivered promptly, safely, and courteously, leaving a lasting positive impression on customers. This position demands a high level of responsibility, as you will be tasked with not only accurate and timely deliveries but also maintaining positive and professional communication with customers on site. The role includes handling customer returns with accuracy and participating in annual physical inventories, which contribute to operational efficiency and inventory accuracy. The company places a high importance on safety, requiring drivers to operate vehicles in a safe, courteous, and defensive manner under varying road and weather conditions. Given that this position may involve the transportation of hazardous materials, adherence to safety protocols is paramount.
Ideal candidates for the Delivery Driver role are reliable, safety-conscious, and devoted to delivering exceptional customer service. Organizational skills, time management, and prioritization are critical to managing delivery schedules effectively. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential, facilitating professional and cooperative relationships with customers and colleagues alike. Key qualifications include a clean driving record, a high school diploma or GED, being at least 21 years of age, and possession of a valid Class C or D license. Candidates must also be willing to undergo and pass a background check and drug screening test, underscoring FMP’s commitment to maintaining a safe and trustworthy workforce. Physical capability to lift up to 75 pounds and the ability to read maps or have an understanding of local geography are necessary to manage delivery tasks successfully.
FMP values its employees highly and offers a well-balanced compensation and benefits package designed to support their health, well-being, and financial security. Salary is competitive and based on experience and job performance, reflecting the company’s commitment to rewarding talent and dedication. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, participation in 401K and profit-sharing programs, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave, short-term and long-term disability insurance, and much more. These benefits aim to create a supportive and rewarding work environment where employees feel valued and motivated to contribute their best. Factory Motor Parts is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer, demonstrating its commitment to diversity and inclusion within the workplace.
