This particular role is for a Delivery Driver position based at Sherwin-Williams Store #3723, located at 1326 Allen St., Allentown, PA. The Delivery Driver will be responsible for delivering products to customers using box and flat-bed trucks, ensuring that all deliveries are complete, safely packed, and accurately delivered to the correct recipient. This role demands a commitment to excellent customer service, timely and safe transportation of goods, and adherence to company protocols and safety regulations. Drivers will interact directly with customers, some of whom may be minors, and handle various types of sensitive items, including cash, electronic payment methods, and store merchandise. Given the nature of this role, candidates will undergo a criminal history review to ensure the safety and security of customers, employees, and company assets.

Key responsibilities include preparing deliveries to meet customer needs, loading and securing orders on trucks, maintaining delivery schedules and safety standards, performing vehicle maintenance checks, and providing superior customer support throughout the delivery process. Sherwin-Williams also supports continuous learning and ensures that drivers maintain all necessary certifications, such as a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate and Driver's License.

This role requires candidates to be at least 21 years old, legally authorized to work without sponsorship, and able to communicate effectively in English. Preferred qualifications include previous experience as a delivery driver, familiarity with material handling equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks, knowledge of paint and paint-related products, and bilingual communication skills, especially Spanish. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least twenty-one 21 years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver's License
  • Must have a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate MEC from a Department of Transportation DOT licensed medical examiner listed on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration FMCSA National Registry or be willing to obtain one within five business days of receiving a conditional offer of employment
  • Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs on occasion
  • Must be willing to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records

Job Qualifications

  • Have at least a high school diploma or GED
  • Have at least one year of experience working as a delivery driver
  • Have at least one year of work experience using material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, order pickers, vacu-hoists, drum dollies, conveyor belts, etc.
  • Have previous work experience selling paint and paint-related products
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish

Job Duties

  • Ensure deliveries are prepared to meet customer requirements in the most efficient manner
  • Load customer orders properly on the truck
  • Ensure appropriate forms are completed
  • Load, transport, and deliver items to customers in a safe, timely manner
  • Maintain the store vehicle and alert the supervisor to repair and servicing needs
  • Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and handle complaints from customers
  • Adhere to assigned routes and following time schedules
  • Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record
  • Prepare reports and other documents relating to deliveries
  • Operate equipment and machines, such as cars, trucks, forklifts, etc.
  • Perform other tasks in the store, including warehouse duties, tinting, and mixing customer orders and waiting on customers
