This position at Sherwin-Williams is for a Delivery Driver based at Store #702352 located at 1818 Thomasville Rd, Tallahassee, FL 32303. The role is responsible for delivering products to customers using box and flat-bed trucks, ensuring that deliveries are complete, properly packed, and safely transported to the correct destination. The driver plays a crucial role in maintaining customer satisfaction through timely and accurate delivery service. Additional responsibilities include loading customer orders correctly onto vehicles, adhering to assigned routes and schedules, and maintaining all necessary documentation related to deliveries. This position requires interaction with a diverse customer base, including minors, and handling valuable items such as cash, payment methods, and merchandise either under supervision or independently. Due to this, Sherwin-Williams conducts criminal background checks to ensure the safety of its customers, staff, and the public. The delivery driver must comply with all transportation laws, maintain a safe driving record, and be willing to perform ancillary duties including warehouse tasks, tinting and mixing paint orders, and providing direct customer service at the store. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver's License
  • Must have a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) from a Department of Transportation (DOT) licensed medical examiner listed on the FMCSA National Registry or be willing to obtain one within five business days of receiving a conditional offer of employment
  • Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs on occasion
  • Must be willing to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship
  • Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver's License
  • Must have a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) or be willing to obtain one within five business days
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs occasionally
  • Must read and speak English sufficiently to converse and understand highway signs
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • At least one year of experience as a delivery driver preferred
  • Experience using material handling equipment preferred
  • Previous work experience selling paint and paint-related products preferred
  • Ability to communicate in more than one language is a plus
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus

Job Duties

  • Ensure deliveries are prepared to meet customer requirements in the most efficient manner
  • Load customer orders properly on the truck
  • Ensure appropriate forms are completed
  • Load, transport, and deliver items to customers in a safe, timely manner
  • Maintain the store vehicle and alert the supervisor to repair and servicing needs
  • Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and handle complaints from customers
  • Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record
