This role is for a professional driver responsible for delivering and picking up materials using a company-provided truck and/or trailer. The driver will be tasked with loading and unloading vehicles, verifying shipment accuracy, and maintaining clear communication with dispatchers to ensure smooth and efficient operations. This position requires a strong attention to detail for inventory management and documentation, as well as an understanding of safety protocols, especially hazardous materials handling and compliance with related regulations. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks, with opportunities for training and certification provided by MVAS.

The driver will play an active role not only in transportation but also in assisting with warehouse inventory organization, yard maintenance, and supporting daily operational tasks. This position demands adherence to safety standards, excellent judgment to handle diverse situations on the road, and effective collaboration with dispatch teams and management. Being alert and vigilant while driving is critical to maintaining safety for the driver and the community. The role also requires inspection and care of company vehicles before and after trips, as well as following all legal and company-specific licensing requirements.

  • ability to maintain accurate records and logs

Job Duties

  • Work alongside dispatchers to safely and efficiently deliver products
  • receive orders (pull tags, invoices) to pull orders from dispatch
  • pull, check, count, and verify orders as requested
  • load truck with materials and secure all loads/product on truck
  • check order count being loaded, verify quantities are accurate according to shipping papers
  • check all safety items daily (first-aid kits, fire extinguisher, tie down straps, spill kits)
  • keep paperwork in proper place inside of vehicle
  • upon delivery, verify quantity being delivered and unloaded
  • keep accurate log of deliveries
  • follow all rules and regulations of hazardous materials, having an understanding of what placarding is required for all materials being hauled
  • understand limitations of licensing, vehicle, and equipment
  • keep vehicles clean and free of trash and debris
  • report any issues to dispatch and branch manager
  • inspect vehicle before and after trip
  • assist in cleanup at yard, shop, and warehouse
  • organize inventory and assist in pulling/staging orders
  • ability to work overtime, as needed
  • other duties as assigned
