Core-Mark is a leading distributor in the convenience retail industry, recognized as the largest and most comprehensive marketer of consumer goods in North America. The company offers a broad range of fresh and broadline solutions to support convenience operators across the United States and Canada. Core-Mark prides itself on empowering its customers, employees, and communities while maintaining a strong focus on safety, inclusion, and growth opportunities. The company promotes a culture of rewards, recognition, and respect, making it an attractive workplace for individuals seeking long-term career growth and stability within the essential food distribution sector. Core-Mark is committed to equal employment opportunities and adheres to comprehensive policies to protect employee rights and foster diversity and inclusion across the workforce.
The role being offered is that of a Commercial Truck Driver (CDL A) within Core-Mark’s dynamic logistics and distribution network. This position involves performing critical tasks that help maintain America’s food distribution system efficiently and safely. The pay for this role starts at $23.50 per hour during training, with the opportunity to earn up to $85,000 in the first year, paid based on stops, loads, and miles driven. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 2:00 AM to 12:00 PM, offering a consistent routine for drivers. As a driver, the incumbent will be responsible for conducting safety inspections, following Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, securing cargo, and ensuring timely and accurate deliveries across predetermined routes. The role demands adherence to company safety standards, proper handling and securing of freight, and maintaining all required route documentation. Drivers will also perform hook/unhook procedures, park equipment in designated areas, manage damaged goods, unload equipment, and complete daily hours of service logs. Additionally, drivers are expected to uphold cleanliness and general housekeeping standards around their assigned vehicles and work areas.
Core-Mark offers competitive pay and an attractive benefits package, including day-one health and wellness benefits, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and more. This position provides a growth path for individuals eager to build a career in the logistics and transportation sector while performing essential work that supports the food supply chain. The environment is safe and inclusive, with a strong emphasis on respect and recognition of employees. Candidates must meet all licensing and certification requirements, possess a clean motor vehicle record for the past three years, and be capable of passing drug and road tests. The ability to hand-lift and use equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates to handle freight is also necessary to perform this role successfully. Overall, this position is an excellent opportunity for drivers seeking steady employment, competitive compensation, and the chance to be a vital part of Core-Mark's success in serving convenience retail operators nationally.
