The Driver role at Core-Mark is vital to supporting the food supply chain across the nation. As a food and food service delivery driver, you become the essential link that ensures timely and safe transportation of food products to customers. This role is not only about delivering goods but also about being the face of Core-Mark, building lasting relationships with customers through professionalism and reliability. The position offers an excellent compensation package, including an average weekly base pay of $1500 plus weekly bonus potential of $375. The work schedule is Monday through Friday with early morning dispatching times between 3:00 AM and 5:00 AM, reflecting the nature of the logistics and delivery industry.

Responsibilities encompass operating tractor-trailers or straight trucks across intrastate and interstate routes, including over-the-road, local, shuttle, and overnight shifts. The driver is accountable for following all Department of Transportation regulations and company safety standards, performing pre and post-trip inspections, reporting safety issues, and ensuring cargo is properly loaded, secured, and delivered. The role includes verifying deliveries, completing necessary paperwork, and collecting payments when required. Drivers are expected to maintain the cleanliness and security of their vehicles and trailers and to participate fully as team members within their departments. Physical demands such as lifting product cases that can weigh between 10 to 90 pounds and using equipment like two-wheelers and lift gates are part of daily tasks. This position requires maintaining thorough documentation, including hours of service logs, in compliance with federal and state regulations. Job Requirements

  • valid CDL-A license
  • 6 plus months of tractor trailer driving experience
  • meet all state licensing and certification requirements where applicable
  • clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
  • pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
  • pass road test
  • attains or has valid current DOT Health Card or able to secure new DOT Health Card
  • able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate, and other equipment to move and stack product cases of varying size and weight throughout shift

Job Qualifications

  • 6 plus months of tractor trailer driving experience
  • valid CDL-A license

Job Duties

  • Perform all required safety checks including pre and post-trip inspections of tractor, truck, and trailer
  • report safety issues and repairs required
  • follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines
  • inspect trailer to ensure properly loaded and secured freight
  • perform count check of items and verify customer invoices
  • complete accurate and legible paperwork associated with freight
  • move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed
  • drive and deliver customer orders according to route schedule
  • unload products and transport items to designated storage areas
  • perform damage control checks on items and contact supervisor regarding order removals
  • verify delivery with customer and obtain signatures
  • collect money where required
  • secure trailer doors and tractor
  • unload damaged goods and customer returns, complete necessary paperwork
  • complete daily records of hours of service and log entry
  • perform housekeeping duties in tractor and loading dock area
  • secure all equipment and complete paperwork at end of shift
  • perform other related duties as assigned
