Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months or more experience driving a tractor trailer
  • Valid CDL-A license
  • Must meet all state licensing and certification requirements where applicable
  • Clean motor vehicle report for the past 3 years
  • Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Pass road test
  • Ability to obtain or hold a valid DOT health card
  • Ability to hand-lift and utilize a two-wheeler, lift gate, or other equipment to move freight
  • Must be able to lift items weighing between 10 and 90 pounds depending on job location
  • Willingness to work early morning hours from 3:00 AM to 5:00 AM Monday through Friday

Job Qualifications

  • 6 plus months of experience driving tractor trailer
  • Valid CDL-A license
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
  • Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
  • Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Pass road test
  • Attains or has valid current DOT health card or able to secure new DOT health card
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift
  • Product generally ranges from 10-35 pounds and up to approximately 60 to 90 pounds depending on location

Job Duties

  • Performs all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation regulations
  • Inspects tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and takes appropriate action as needed
  • Reports all safety issues and/or repairs required and follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines
  • Immediately reports all safety hazards and inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
  • Performs count check of items and checks customer invoices of products that have been loaded
  • Checks and completes in an accurate and legible fashion all required paperwork associated with freight
  • Moves tractor to the loading dock and attaches the preloaded trailer as needed
  • Drives to and delivers customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
  • Unloads products from the trailer and transports items into designated customer storage areas
  • Performs damage control checks on items, scans, and contacts supervisor about removing orders according to company policy
  • Verifies delivery of items with customer and obtains proper signatures
  • Collects money where required
  • Loads customer returns onto trailer and secures trailer doors
  • Ensures that tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or secured
  • Unloads damaged goods and customer returns and completes necessary paperwork at driver check-in
  • Performs daily record of hours of service and enters in log according to Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
  • Performs general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keeps trailers clear and clean as required
  • Secures all equipment and completes necessary paperwork at the end of shift
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
