The Food and Food Service Delivery Driver role at Core-Mark is vital to the nation’s food supply chain, reflecting the company's commitment to delivering quality products efficiently and responsibly. This position involves operating tractor-trailers or straight trucks for local, intrastate, and interstate routes, including over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop deliveries. The role demands strict adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies to uphold safety and operational excellence.
Drivers serve as the face of Core-Mark, building lasting relationships with customers through reliable service and clear communication. Responsibilities include conducting thorough pre- and post-trip safety inspections, securing and unloading freight properly, verifying delivery accuracy, and managing all associated delivery documentation. Drivers also play a critical role in damage control and ensuring product integrity during transit. The position offers competitive weekly pay averaging $1,500 base with an additional $375 potential weekly bonus, providing financial incentives aligned with performance. The schedule operates Monday through Friday, with dispatching times between 3:00 AM and 5:00 AM, reflecting the essential early-morning nature of the role.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 6 months or more experience driving a tractor trailer
- Valid CDL-A license
- Must meet all state licensing and certification requirements where applicable
- Clean motor vehicle report for the past 3 years
- Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- Pass road test
- Ability to obtain or hold a valid DOT health card
- Ability to hand-lift and utilize a two-wheeler, lift gate, or other equipment to move freight
- Must be able to lift items weighing between 10 and 90 pounds depending on job location
- Willingness to work early morning hours from 3:00 AM to 5:00 AM Monday through Friday
Job Qualifications
- 6 plus months of experience driving tractor trailer
- Valid CDL-A license
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
- Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
- Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- Pass road test
- Attains or has valid current DOT health card or able to secure new DOT health card
- Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift
- Product generally ranges from 10-35 pounds and up to approximately 60 to 90 pounds depending on location
Job Duties
- Performs all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation regulations
- Inspects tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and takes appropriate action as needed
- Reports all safety issues and/or repairs required and follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines
- Immediately reports all safety hazards and inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- Performs count check of items and checks customer invoices of products that have been loaded
- Checks and completes in an accurate and legible fashion all required paperwork associated with freight
- Moves tractor to the loading dock and attaches the preloaded trailer as needed
- Drives to and delivers customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
- Unloads products from the trailer and transports items into designated customer storage areas
- Performs damage control checks on items, scans, and contacts supervisor about removing orders according to company policy
- Verifies delivery of items with customer and obtains proper signatures
- Collects money where required
- Loads customer returns onto trailer and secures trailer doors
- Ensures that tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or secured
- Unloads damaged goods and customer returns and completes necessary paperwork at driver check-in
- Performs daily record of hours of service and enters in log according to Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
- Performs general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keeps trailers clear and clean as required
- Secures all equipment and completes necessary paperwork at the end of shift
- Performs other related duties as assigned
