The role of a Food and Food Service Delivery Driver at Core-Mark is pivotal in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the country's food supply chain. This position demands a professional who not only ensures timely and safe delivery of food-related products but also serves as a brand ambassador, fostering lasting relationships with customers. The driver operates tractor-trailers or straight trucks both intrastate and interstate, handling local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes. This full-time role offers a Monday through Friday schedule, with dispatch times from 3:00 AM to 5:00 AM, and features an attractive compensation package including a $1,500 weekly average base pay plus a potential $375 weekly bonus.

Core-Mark delivery drivers perform essential duties such as conducting thorough safety inspections pre and post-trip, adhering strictly to Department of Transportation regulations, and ensuring freight is securely loaded and unloaded. They are responsible for accurate documentation related to freight, precise inventory checking, and maintaining communication with customers, vendors, and team members to provide a seamless service experience. Further, they manage product returns, damaged goods, and ensure that all equipment and trailers are properly maintained and secured.

This position not only requires technical driving skills but also demands a customer-focused attitude, physical capability to handle product cases typically weighing between 10 and 90 pounds, and commitment to safety and company policies. Job Requirements

  • minimum of 6 months experience driving tractor trailer
  • possession of valid CDL-A license
  • compliance with all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
  • clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for past 3 years
  • successful completion of post offer drug test and criminal background check
  • pass road test
  • attainment or ability to secure valid DOT Health Card
  • ability to hand-lift and use equipment to move freight weighing up to 90 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • 6+ months of experience driving tractor trailer
  • valid CDL-A license
  • meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
  • clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for past 3 years
  • pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
  • pass road test
  • attained or able to secure valid current DOT Health Card
  • able to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move and stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight

Job Duties

  • Perform all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation regulations
  • Report all safety issues and repairs required
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
  • Report all safety hazards immediately
  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
  • Perform count check of items and check customer invoices of products that have been loaded
  • Check and complete all required paperwork associated with freight accurately and legibly
  • Move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed
  • Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
  • Unload products from trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas
  • Perform damage control checks on items, scan, and contact supervisor about removing orders according to company policy
  • Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures
  • Collect money where required
  • Load customer returns onto trailer and secure trailer doors
  • Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns and complete necessary paperwork
  • Complete daily record of hours of service and enter in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean
  • Secure all equipment and complete paperwork at end of shift
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
