This position is for a Food and Food Service Delivery Driver, a vital role within America's food supply chain. The Delivery Driver at Core-Mark ensures that customer products arrive at their destination on time, in excellent condition, and with professional service that strengthens long-term relationships with customers. The role involves operating tractor-trailers or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, including local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop duties. The driver is responsible for adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, performing safety inspections and checks, and maintaining communication with customers, vendors, and coworkers. This ensures operational efficiency and safety standards are met while delivering food and food-related products to Core-Mark's valued customers.

The position offers competitive compensation, including a weekly base pay averaging $1500 plus a $375 weekly bonus potential. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with dispatching times from 3:00 AM to 5:00 AM, reflecting the company's commitment to timely deliveries that keep the food supply system running smoothly. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6+ months of experience driving tractor trailer
  • Valid CDL-A license
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report for past 3 years
  • Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Pass road test
  • Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card or able to secure new DOT Health Card
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move product cases/freight of varying size and weight

Job Qualifications

  • 6+ months of experience driving tractor trailer
  • Valid CDL-A license
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable

Job Duties

  • Perform all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer
  • Report all safety issues and/or repairs required
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines
  • Immediately report all safety hazards
  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
  • Perform count check of items and check customer invoices
  • Complete all required paperwork associated with freight accurately
  • Move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed
  • Drive to and deliver customer orders according to route schedule
  • Unload products and transport items into designated storage areas
  • Perform damage control checks on items and communicate with supervisor
  • Verify delivery with customer and obtain signatures
  • Collect payments where required
  • Load customer returns and secure trailer doors
  • Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are always secured
  • Unload damaged goods and complete related paperwork
  • Perform daily record of hours of service and log entries
  • Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping duties in tractor and dock area
  • Complete all necessary end-of-shift paperwork
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
