Job Description

Core-Mark is a leading distributor within the convenience retail industry, specializing in delivering fresh and broadline solutions. Recognized as the largest and most comprehensive marketer of consumer goods in North America, Core-Mark serves a vast network of convenience operators across the United States and Canada. The company prides itself on empowering its customers, employees, and communities by offering an extensive range of products, programs, and tailored solutions designed to enhance retail operations. Core-Mark operates with a strong commitment to quality, safety, and inclusivity, fostering a work environment that values diversity, respect, and opportunity for growth. The company’s robust logistics and distribution capabilities enable it to maintain an efficient and reliable supply chain that supports the dynamic needs of the convenience retail industry.

The Delivery Driver position at Core-Mark is pivotal in maintaining the efficiency and reliability of the food and foodservice distribution network. Primarily based out of Farmingdale, New York, and primarily delivering to the Long Island area, this role offers local routes with the significant benefit of returning home nightly and having weekends off. The position operates five days a week, with shifts beginning between 3:00am and 7:00am. With competitive annual earnings ranging from $80,000 to $100,000 or more depending on performance, drivers are compensated well for their essential services. Additionally, employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including day one health and wellness benefits, a 401K employer-matching plan, an employee stock purchase plan, education assistance, paid time off, and more.

In this role, drivers take on the responsibility of transporting food and related products safely and punctually, adhering strictly to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards. Beyond the physical act of delivery, these drivers serve as the face of Core-Mark to customers, building and sustaining strong business relationships while providing exemplary customer service. Key duties include performing detailed inspections of vehicles and freight, adhering to safety protocols, accurately managing delivery paperwork, and ensuring product integrity throughout the delivery process.

Drivers also handle logistics such as attaching trailers, scanning deliveries, unloading items, securing freight, and performing general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment. The role demands a hands-on approach that includes lifting product cases and utilizing equipment such as hand trucks and lift gates to ensure seamless transportation and delivery operations. Core-Mark places a high value on safety, professionalism, and teamwork, expecting drivers to collaborate within the organization and communicate effectively with co-workers, vendors, and customers.

Overall, this delivery driver role offers a rewarding career path for individuals who are detail-oriented, safety-conscious, customer-focused, and looking for steady, local work with strong growth potential within a supportive and established company.
