Job Description

Star Lumber is a reputable company known for supplying quality building materials across various construction sectors. As a key player in the lumber and building materials industry, Star Lumber provides comprehensive solutions to meet the needs of residential and commercial construction projects. The company prides itself on exceptional customer service, timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest safety and compliance standards. Star Lumber operates multiple locations and offers a range of products including lumber, windows, doors, roofing materials, trusses, wall panels, and other essential construction supplies. Dedicated to supporting contractors, builders, and developers, Star Lumber ensures that projects are supported with reliable product availability and efficient logistics services.

Star Lumber is currently seeking professional CDL Class A and/or Class B Delivery Drivers who are focused on safety and committed to delivering superior customer service. This role involves transporting building materials to various job sites and company locations, ensuring deliveries are executed safely, accurately, and damage-free. Delivery Drivers will operate various vehicles including Class A tractor-trailers, truck-mounted forklifts, flatbeds, curtain-side trailers, and Class B straight trucks as assigned. They will act as important ambassadors of Star Lumber, directly interacting with customers and representing the company’s commitment to excellence.

This full-time driving position requires adherence to strict Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies, including comprehensive vehicle inspections, documentation, and load securement practices. Drivers will be responsible for verifying load accuracy and securing cargo to prevent damage during transit. The role also involves maintaining electronic logs and records related to inspections, fuel, and deliveries. Clear communication skills are necessary to coordinate with dispatch, yard personnel, customers, and sales teams effectively.

Ideal candidates will have prior experience in delivering building materials, familiarity with operating truck-mounted forklifts and flatbed equipment, and a strong knowledge of construction site safety requirements. Certification or formal training in forklift operation is a plus. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to safely lift and maneuver loads up to 100 pounds, perform repetitive motions such as bending and climbing, and work outdoors in different weather conditions.

Star Lumber values safety and continuous improvement, so participation in safety meetings and ongoing driver training programs is required. Drivers may also be assigned shuttle, transfer, or backhaul tasks between company locations as necessary. Success in this role will be measured by safe driving performance, timely and accurate deliveries, customer satisfaction, proper equipment care, and strict compliance with DOT and company safety standards. Star Lumber offers a professional, supportive work environment where drivers have the opportunity to grow their skills and contribute to the company’s mission of delivering quality building materials with excellence.
