The role of US Foods Driver is crucial within the company’s operations as these drivers play an essential role in ensuring timely and safe delivery of food products to customers. This position involves operating commercial trucks to transport food and beverage products and demands a high level of responsibility, reliability, and customer service skills. Drivers are tasked with adhering to schedules, performing pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, and handling deliveries with care and professionalism. A US Foods Driver must be physically capable of lifting and carrying heavy loads and comfortable working in various weather conditions. The role requires at least six months of commercial driving experience or three months within the food and beverage delivery industry. Holding a valid CDL Class A with necessary endorsements is mandatory, as well as registration with the FMCSA Clearinghouse database to comply with Department of Transportation regulations. Drivers frequently interact with customers to verify deliveries and process payments when needed, making interpersonal and communication skills a key competency. Job Requirements

  • must be at least 21 years of age

  • ability to operate manual transmission preferred

Job Duties

  • safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times
  • carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas
  • verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures
  • handle collections and payments from customers when applicable
  • professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance client experience
  • perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
  • lift, carry, push, and pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product during each shift
