As a P&D (Pickup and Delivery) Driver for Southeastern Freight Lines, you play a crucial role in representing the company as the face of Southeastern, directly engaging with customers by picking up, transporting, and delivering freight locally. The role requires operating tractor-trailers safely and efficiently in diverse conditions, including urban traffic, industrial areas, and tight delivery spaces. The driver is responsible for handling all aspects of vehicle operations such as coupling and uncoupling trailers, connecting lines, and adjusting equipment to ensure smooth transport. A strong emphasis on safety is essential, as the position involves conducting thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips, ensuring compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and meticulously managing transport documents, especially when dealing with hazardous materials.

This role demands excellent driving and maneuvering skills, the ability to perform under pressure, and a commitment to professional conduct and customer service. The P&D Driver must be able to lift, load, and unload cargo, making sure deliveries are made accurately and on schedule. Candidates must have a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with necessary endorsements such as HAZMAT, Tanker, and Twin Trailers, free from any automatic restrictions. The ability to read and write in English, perform basic math calculations, read maps and road signs, handle receipts, and maintain driving logs is essential. Additionally, candidates must meet DOT physical and medical standards and pass mandatory alcohol and drug tests to ensure they meet federal and state safety standards. This full-time role offers an annual salary range of $94,731 to $103,332, depending on experience, hours, and location, and operates on a first shift schedule.
