The Delivery and Warehouse Associate role at Farmers Furniture is a critical position responsible for performing tasks related to both delivery and warehouse activities. This full-time position involves loading and unloading trucks, driving delivery vehicles within assigned zones, and ensuring that merchandise reaches customers' homes or businesses safely and efficiently. The associate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of warehouse and store environments, assembling merchandise, and assisting with sales promotion displays. This position also supports customer service by performing inspections and minor repairs and participates in collection calls to delinquent customers when requested by management.

The role demands adherence to safety practices and DOT requirements, maintenance of delivery trucks, and accurate tracking of delivery records. The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and at least six months of experience in a distribution or warehouse setting. They must be physically capable of performing heavy lifting and other demanding tasks and able to pass all necessary medical and certification requirements related to driving. Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED
six months experience in distribution or warehouse environment
valid State Drivers License
familiarity with delivery area
ability to meet DOT requirements including Medical Examiners Certification and Driver’s DOT qualification file
ability to exert heavy physical effort regularly involving climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 100 pounds regularly and occasionally heavier
ability to perceive colors, sounds, depth, and visual cues
ability to communicate orally
ability to work in adverse environmental conditions such as dirt, dust, temperature extremes, electric currents, or toxic agents

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

Drives truck in assigned zone to deliver products purchased by customers
loads truck in preparation for daily deliveries
unloads merchandise at customer location and sets up as necessary
obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery
records deliveries on delivery record and submits to appropriate management
monitors proper maintenance and regular inspection of vehicles
performs general vehicle maintenance including recording fuel and fluid usage
unloads merchandise from warehouse and freight trucks
maintains cleanliness of store and warehouse interior and grounds
places stock on shelves or racks and sets up merchandise and sales promotion displays
assembles merchandise as required
assists with repossessions of goods
performs general maintenance and grounds keeping duties for warehouse and/or store
performs customer service inspections and repairs as needed
performs collection field calls to delinquent customers at the request of management
upholds and promotes company's HOME values
