Job Description

The role involves the responsible operation of delivery trucks to transport plants safely to their designated locations. The driver will handle all aspects of the delivery process, including verifying shipment details against invoices to ensure accuracy, obtaining signed invoices and payments from customers, and performing physical tasks such as loading and unloading trucks. Physical stamina is important as the role requires standing, walking, bending, twisting, and lifting items weighing up to 100 pounds. The driver is also expected to serve as a key point of contact between the company and its customers, maintaining positive relations and communicating any customer feedback, complaints, or special requests to management. Job Requirements

  • Possess a valid drivers license
  • have a clean motor vehicle record
  • ability to pass DOT medical exam
  • ability to perform physical requirements necessary to load and unload trucks i.e. standing, walking, bending, twisting, and lifting plant materials up to 100 lbs

Job Qualifications

  • Experience driving straight trucks, flatbeds, box vans, or truck and trailer combinations preferred
  • customer service skills
  • ability to safely operate delivery vehicles
  • basic math skills for verifying shipment quantities and payments
  • ability to communicate effectively with customers and management

Job Duties

  • Safely drive truck to transport plants to customers at specified locations
  • verify shipments against invoices to ensure quantities are correct
  • obtain signed invoices and payments for materials
  • perform all physical activities to load and unload trucks
  • promote and maintain good customer relationships
  • take an active role in communication and customer feedback to management including customer complaints, requests, and returns
