The Delivery Truck Driver role at US FOODS is designed for motivated individuals eager to challenge themselves and grow professionally within a supportive environment. Starting with a competitive training base rate of $33.43 per hour, the role transitions to a pay structure based on miles driven, cases delivered, and stops made, with guaranteed hourly pay during downtime. Drivers are valued members of the US FOODS team, entrusted with the safe and timely delivery of food products to customers. The position offers flexible route options, including local and layover routes, which are assigned based on driver tenure. Routes start between 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM with opportunities for four- and five-day workweeks, as well as optional extra work days with paid incentives.

US FOODS equips its drivers with the latest industry-standard tools, including tractors and route trailers assigned by tenure, all featuring liftgates and powered pallet jacks to ease the unloading process. Drivers operate under a strong safety culture, performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and adhering to all regulatory requirements. Physical demands include the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull products weighing between 20 to over 80 pounds throughout the shift, while working in a variety of weather conditions and making frequent stops.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • valid CDL Class A license with necessary endorsements
  • minimum six months commercial driving experience
  • ability to operate manual transmission preferred
  • ability to read and communicate in English
  • register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse
  • ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 20 to 80 plus pounds throughout each shift
  • comfortable driving and working in inclement weather with frequent stops

Job Qualifications

  • Valid CDL Class A issued by state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
  • minimum six months commercial driving experience with one year of foodservice experience preferred
  • ability to operate manual transmission preferred and may be required
  • ability to read and communicate in English
  • register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse
  • must be at least 21 years of age

Job Duties

  • Lead with safety at the forefront
