Job Description
MedTrans is the dedicated private fleet of Medline Industries, LP, a prominent leader in the medical supply industry. Medline is known for providing innovative medical products to healthcare facilities, professionals, and patients across the United States. MedTrans operates over 1,900 trucks, composed of newer and well-maintained equipment, facilitating the timely delivery of life-saving medical products. The company manages an extensive network of more than 50 distribution centers nationally, which enables them to offer 1-day shipping to approximately 95% of the country. The fleet is pivotal in ensuring the availability of critical medical supplies where and when they are needed. MedTrans is proud of its robust infrastructure that combines advanced logistics with a professional team to maintain high service and safety standards.
The Delivery Driver role at MedTrans is essential for the organization’s mission to deliver medical products directly and safely to both commercial and residential customers. This position demands a responsible individual who will operate a parcel van and/or straight truck to deliver these critical products locally. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and customer service as key pillars. Delivery Drivers are entrusted not only with hauling medical equipment but also with representing MedTrans in the field by fostering positive customer relationships with timely, accurate, and safe deliveries.
As a Delivery Driver, you will be tasked with loading and securing medical products at the Medline facility, driving carefully along assigned routes to multiple customer destinations, and unloading products with precision to meet delivery schedules. The role incorporates frequent communication with the dispatch team to accommodate route adjustments and respond dynamically to customer needs. Safety compliance is paramount, necessitating regular checkups of the vehicle’s condition and adherence to federal and state regulations governing commercial motor vehicle operation.
Beyond the operational tasks, Delivery Drivers also provide hands-on customer service by answering questions and supplying necessary documentation at the point of delivery, thereby enhancing customer satisfaction and trust. Drivers benefit from operating new and updated equipment, and enjoy the work-life balance of local routes that typically allow them to be home daily. With an hourly wage range of $19.75 to $28.75 (dependent on location and experience), compensated drivers are supported by a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and prescription plans, paid time off, 401(k) company matching, and opportunities for professional growth within a globally growing company. MedTrans prioritizes safety and inclusivity, striving to cultivate a work environment where all employees feel valued and empowered to succeed.
