As one of the largest food distributors, US Foods emphasizes promoting from within and investing in leadership and job skills training to help employees reach their full potential. The company also offers competitive compensation packages and comprehensive benefits from day one.

The role of CDL-A Delivery Truck Driver at US Foods is an integral part of the company’s operational success. Drivers start with a training base rate of $33.43 per hour, transitioning to a component pay structure based on miles driven, cases delivered, and stops made, accompanied by hourly pay for downtime. This position offers routes that are either local or include layovers, with shifts starting between 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Delivery truck drivers at US Foods are responsible for safely transporting foodservice products to various customers, handling pre-picked orders on plastic pallets for streamlined unloading. Trucks are equipped with liftgates and powered pallet jacks to reduce physical strain, promoting safety and efficiency.

This role requires a strong commitment to safety, the ability to operate commercial vehicles proficiently, and excellent customer service skills. Drivers must perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance. Physical demands include lifting and handling loads of 20 to 80+ pounds repetitively throughout shifts and working under various weather conditions with frequent stops. US Foods values those eager to advance their careers in the logistics and transportation industries and offers flexible scheduling options including four- and five-day workweeks, with opportunities for extra paid work on additional days.

Applicants must hold a valid CDL Class A license with required endorsements and be registered with the FMCSA Clearinghouse, which tracks drug and alcohol program violations for commercial drivers. Prior driving experience is expected, preferably with foodservice delivery exposure. Proficiency in English, age of at least 21 years, and the ability to operate manual transmissions in specified locations are also needed. US Foods promotes a supportive leadership team and a culture of safety to ensure employees' success and well-being in their roles.
