The role of a US Foods Driver is integral to the company’s success in delivering outstanding service and products to its customers. This position involves safely operating commercial trucks to transport food and related products from distribution centers to various customer locations. Drivers are responsible for adhering to scheduled delivery times while ensuring product accuracy and proper handling upon delivery. Key responsibilities include unloading products with tools like pallet jacks or two-wheelers, verifying customer orders, obtaining signatures, and managing customer interactions professionally. Drivers also perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain the safety and functionality of their equipment and may handle collections and payments when required. The position demands physical stamina, such as the ability to lift and carry heavy items repeatedly, and involves working in varying weather conditions with frequent stops. The role requires compliance with federal regulations, including registering with the FMCSA Clearinghouse, to maintain safety standards in the transportation industry.

Compensation for this role depends on factors such as relevant experience, education, specific skills, function, and location, with an expected base rate ranging from $27.02 to $31.79 per hour, plus overtime as applicable. Job Requirements

  • Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Minimum of six months commercial driving experience or three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry
  • Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse
  • Ability to read and communicate in the English language
  • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. repetitively during each shift
  • Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops

Job Qualifications

  • Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
  • Minimum of six months commercial driving experience or three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry
  • Ability to read and communicate in the English language
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Ability to operate manual transmission preferred
  • Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse

Job Duties

  • Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times
  • Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas
  • Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures
  • Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable
  • Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience
  • Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
