Job Description
Later Neighbor is a dynamic company that started its journey in Dallas and is now steadily expanding into the Pflugerville and Austin markets. As a company, Later Neighbor specializes in white-glove appliance delivery services for major national retailers, alongside offering a growing local moving business. This unique combination has positioned Later Neighbor as a reputable and trusted name in the appliance delivery and installation sector. The company values professionalism, precision, and customer satisfaction to ensure every delivery and installation meets the highest standards. Their commitment to quality service and employee development fosters a positive work culture and places significant importance on team growth and advancement opportunities.
Later Neighbor is currently looking to hire an experienced Appliance Delivery Driver to join their white-glove delivery team in the Pflugerville/Austin area. This is a full-time position with a Monday through Friday schedule, providing employees with weekends off, a rare and valuable benefit in the delivery and moving industries. The schedule starts early in the morning, generally beginning between 6:15 AM and 6:30 AM and typically concluding between 3:00 PM and 4:30 PM. The role offers a generous compensation package starting at a $46,000 base salary, backed by an $884 weekly guarantee. On top of the base pay, there are opportunities for additional earnings through monthly performance bonuses up to $500, a pro-rated December retention bonus of $2,500, signing bonuses after the first eight weeks, and discretionary annual bonuses that can reach as high as $10,000 depending on performance and company growth. Later Neighbor values its workforce and commits to annual performance reviews with salary increases that reflect individual growth and contributions to the company.
The role itself is integral to the operational success of Later Neighbor’s white-glove delivery service. The Appliance Delivery Driver will be responsible not just for delivering but also installing appliances directly in customers' homes. Installation experience is a non-negotiable requirement due to the complexity and liability associated with tasks such as hooking up washers and dryers (both electric and gas), installing refrigerators including water line connections, dishwashers, and large over-the-range appliances. Installing appliances requires an expert eye for identifying potential hazards such as corroded pipes and outdated connections before beginning work, ensuring every installation is completed flawlessly the first time, thus maintaining a zero-damage standard. This role is highly customer-facing, meaning a professional appearance and excellent communication skills are essential components of success. The driver will use route optimization software equipped with photo, video, and extensive documentation features designed to protect both the employee and the company by meticulously recording each step of the installation and delivery process.
Aside from technical expertise, the ideal candidate will have a clean driving record and a valid Texas driver’s license, the physical ability to lift between 75 to 150 pounds, and the stamina to be on their feet throughout the workday. Comfort with technology is crucial as the tasks involve the use of digital route and documentation tools. Effective communication skills to listen actively, ask clarifying questions, and flag concerns immediately are also required. These skills enable the driver to provide white-glove delivery services that meet Later Neighbor’s high standards and maintain customer satisfaction.
Later Neighbor offers significant growth opportunities for dedicated employees, with clear career progression paths from Driver to Lead Driver, then Route Leader, all based on performance rather than tenure. This startup environment fosters a culture of meritocracy where motivated individuals can expand their roles and responsibilities as the company continues to develop. Overall, this role presents a promising opportunity to become part of a growing company in an essential and respected delivery niche while enjoying comprehensive compensation, career growth, and work-life balance through guaranteed weekends off and a consistent weekday schedule.
