Job Description

Graybar is a leading employee-owned company specializing in the distribution of electrical, communications, and data networking products and services. With a rich history spanning over 150 years, Graybar has established itself as a trusted partner for contractors, industrial companies, and commercial businesses. The company prides itself on its comprehensive benefits package, employee stock ownership plan, and dedication to career development, making it a preferred employer for many professionals seeking stability and growth in their careers.

The role of a Delivery Driver at Graybar is more than just a job; it's a rewarding career path that offers the opportunity to engage directly with customers and contribute to the company's success through timely and efficient delivery service. This position involves safely operating Graybar trucks or vans to deliver products from the warehouse to various customer locations while providing exceptional customer service. Delivery Drivers play a crucial role in maintaining positive customer relations by not only ensuring accurate and on-time deliveries but also by promoting Graybar's services and products. This interaction helps build trust and encourages repeat business, reflecting the company's commitment to excellence.

Typically scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, this role offers a stable and predictable work schedule with no overnight or weekend travel, allowing employees to be home every night. The starting pay rate is competitive at $21.00 per hour, depending on experience, and is complemented by extensive benefits that enhance work-life balance and personal well-being.

Responsibilities include determining the best delivery routes to meet customer expectations, loading and unloading trucks using warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, inspecting vehicles and supplies for safety, maintaining proper truck logs, and adhering to safety protocols at all times. The role requires physical ability to handle warehouse environments and operate equipment safely while using personal protective equipment appropriately. Compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and successful completion of medical exams and certification are mandatory.

Graybar's commitment to its employees extends beyond competitive pay and stable schedules. Employees benefit from multiple medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug plan options, life insurance coverage with family options, flexible spending accounts, disability benefits at no cost, profit sharing plans, and a 401(k) savings plan with company match. Paid vacation, sick days, holidays, and wellness days provide ample opportunity for rest and health maintenance. Additional perks include community time off for volunteering, an employee recognition program, and educational reimbursement to support ongoing career development.

Graybar values diversity and inclusion, embracing employees from all backgrounds and experiences to foster innovation and teamwork.
