Joining US Foods as a Delivery Driver in San Antonio, TX offers an excellent opportunity to be part of this dynamic foodservice leader. This role is full-time with a schedule running Monday through Friday, working four to five days a week with shifts starting at midnight and continuing until delivery routes are completed. The position pays $32.06 per hour, with the potential for overtime compensation, making it a competitive role within the logistics and transportation field.
As a US Foods Delivery Driver, you will be essential in ensuring timely and accurate delivery of food products to a variety of customers, maintaining high standards of customer service, and upholding the company’s strong safety culture. You will be responsible for safely operating company trucks, carefully unloading products using equipment such as two-wheelers and pallet jacks, and verifying delivery accuracy through obtaining proper customer signatures. The position requires physically demanding work, including lifting, pushing, and pulling products weighing from 20 to over 80 pounds repeatedly during shifts. Additionally, drivers must be comfortable working in varying weather conditions and must conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety at all times.
This role demands excellent communication skills since drivers interact directly with customers, handling collections and payments, and representing the company professionally to enhance the client experience. Being able to read and communicate effectively in English is essential, along with a valid CDL Class A license, necessary endorsements, and compliance with Department of Transportation regulations. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have a valid CDL Class A license with endorsements
- Minimum of six months commercial driving experience or three months in food/beverage delivery
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull 20 to 80+ lbs. repetitively during shifts
- Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather with frequent stops
- Must be able to read and communicate in English
- Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse
Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
- Minimum of six months commercial driving experience or three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry
- Ability to operate manual transmission preferred
- Must be able to read and communicate in the English language
- Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse
Job Duties
- Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times
- Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas
- Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures
- Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable
- Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience
- Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
