Job Description
US Foods is a leading foodservice distributor committed to providing outstanding products and services that empower its customers in the food industry. With a wide-reaching network and dedication to innovation, US Foods serves restaurants, healthcare and hospitality organizations, government operations, and more. The company prides itself on fostering a culture of integrity, collaboration, and community involvement, ensuring a supportive environment for its employees and customers alike. As one of the largest foodservice distributors in the United States, US Foods continuously invests in its workforce to help them grow both personally and professionally.
This opportunity is for CDL A Delivery Drivers local to the Phoenix Distribution Center. As a US Foods CDL A Delivery Driver, you will be a key player in the supply chain, responsible for safely delivering food products to customers and ensuring their satisfaction with timely deliveries and careful handling of merchandise. The role offers a competitive starting base hourly pay of $32.28, which will transition to a compensation structure based on miles driven, cases delivered, and stops made, along with hourly pay for any downtime. Drivers enjoy a predictable schedule working night shifts with dispatch starting between 8:00 PM and 12:00 AM, and a workweek consisting of Sunday through Friday with Saturdays off, typically working 4 to 5 days per week.
Your day-to-day duties involve driving trucks safely across assigned routes, unloading and placing products in designated areas using equipment like two-wheelers and pallet jacks, verifying deliveries with customers, and handling collections when necessary. You will also be responsible for performing thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance. Working at US Foods means being part of a company that values the driver’s role as a vital face of the organization, emphasizing trust, reliability, and exceptional customer service as cornerstones of success.
Beyond competitive pay and a supportive schedule, US Foods offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement plans, paid time off, short- and long-term disability coverage, an employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance. The role requires physical stamina to handle repetitive lifting and to work under varying weather conditions with frequent stops. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid CDL Class A license with the proper endorsements and DOT qualifications, and have relevant driving experience. Registering with the FMCSA Clearinghouse is also required by Department of Transportation regulations.
Joining US Foods gives you the opportunity to build a rewarding career with a company that not only values its customers but also invests deeply in its employees' growth and well-being. Whether you are an experienced driver or looking to advance your career in the foodservice logistics industry, US Foods provides the platform and the support to help you succeed and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
