The Nuclear Pharmacy Services division of Cardinal Health has been a pioneer in the radiopharmaceutical industry for nearly 50 years. This division operates a vast network of over 130 pharmacies and fills 65 percent of radiopharmaceutical unit doses nationwide. This position is a Nuclear Pharmacy Driver role within this specialized division, which offers a competitive pay rate of $17.75 per hour and includes a $1000 new hire sign-on bonus. The role is a full-time position with a typical work schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. However, candidates should be flexible to work different days, hours, and schedules as business needs dictate.

As a Nuclear Pharmacy Driver, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering radiopharmaceuticals to customer accounts along an assigned route using a company vehicle. This critical role requires precise packaging, testing, and handling of sensitive radiopharmaceutical medications following strict safety standards and regulatory compliance. The use of technology, including handheld tablets for scanning orders and route navigation, is integral to ensuring accurate and efficient deliveries.

Key responsibilities include maintaining vehicles in proper working condition, performing minor roadside repairs if necessary, processing returned packages, and performing general pharmacy and facility cleaning duties. The role demands adherence to safety protocols related to biohazards, radiation, and contamination, requiring participation in comprehensive training programs covering these areas as well as security awareness and safe driving practices.

Candidates should be capable of lifting containers weighing up to 75 pounds and comfortable driving in all weather conditions and during both day and night hours. Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and have a good driving record
  • Minimum of 18 years of age due to driving of company owned vehicle
  • Prior delivery driving experience a plus
  • Ability to lift containers weighing up to 75 pounds
  • Comfortable driving in all weather conditions during day or night hours
  • Ability to sit, stand, be mobile and operate a vehicle for extended periods of time
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work weekends or be in a weekend rotation required
  • Ability to work holidays or be in a holiday rotation required
  • Ability to work on call or be in an on call rotation required
  • Flexibility to work various shifts or overtime as needed
  • Ability to use computers and tablets

Job Duties

  • Prepares and makes deliveries to customer accounts on assigned route using a company vehicle
  • Packages radiopharmaceutical medication for shipment, performs testing, and loads/unloads containers
  • Uses a handheld tablet to scan customer orders for accuracy, obtain route stop information and navigation
  • Processes packages returned from customer locations
  • Maintains vehicles in proper working condition and may perform minor roadside repairs
  • Performs general facility cleaning and other duties as required
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of process and systems that support product delivery including technology assisted packaging system and route optimization tablet
