The Delivery Driver role at Hy-Vee is a vital position within the Grocery Department responsible for ensuring prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service. This non-exempt role requires delivering products directly to customers, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, and ensuring adherence to food safety standards. Job Requirements

No specific education required
Must be at least 18 years old
Valid driver’s license with no DOT restrictions
Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen
Ability to see detail at near range with or without correction
Physically able to perform medium work including lifting objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and frequent standing, walking, and lifting/carrying objects up to 25 pounds
Ability to perform physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
Ability to enter and exit delivery vehicle multiple times daily and traverse staircases and rough terrain to reach destination
Ability to work under pressure to deliver products timely

Job Duties

Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions
Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner in any store setting
Learn customers’ names and address them by name whenever possible
Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and pleasant work environment
Deliver products to customers, collect payment, and make change as needed
Return payments and beginning cash to store
Maintain food and groceries at proper temperature according to food safety standards
Maintain strict adherence to personal hygiene and dress guidelines
Adhere to company policies and store guidelines
Report to work on schedule and on time
Assist in other store areas as needed
Perform job-related duties and special projects as required
Facilitate maintenance and upkeep of delivery vehicles
