The US Foods Driver position based in Buda, TX offers an exceptional opportunity for individuals seeking a rewarding career in the foodservice industry. This role involves safely operating delivery trucks to transport food products to customers, ensuring timely deliveries that meet stringent quality and service standards. The position requires a dependable individual who can manage physical tasks such as unloading products and maintaining accurate delivery records, all while fostering strong customer relationships through professional service. Drivers at US Foods operate within a schedule that includes Monday through Friday shifts, starting between 1:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m., with a typical work week ranging from 40 to 55 hours. The role offers a weekly pay guarantee of $1,442.30, along with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401K, and life insurance.

This position demands a candidate who is safety-conscious, customer-focused, and capable of handling the physical demands of truck driving and product handling under various weather conditions. All drivers are required to register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse as part of compliance with Department of Transportation regulations. The role may also include collecting payments from customers and conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections to ensure vehicle safety and reliability.

Job Requirements

  • Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
  • Minimum of six months commercial driving experience or three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry
  • Ability to operate manual transmission preferred
  • Must be able to read and communicate in the English language

Job Duties

  • Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times
  • Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas
  • Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures
  • Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable
  • Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience
  • Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
