Operating more than 50 furniture showrooms and employing over 700 staff members throughout the United States, this establishment takes pride in its strong heritage rooted in Nordic culture, modern design, and quality craftsmanship. Known for its contemporary home furnishings, Scandinavian Designs | Dania Furniture delivers an extensive range of stylish and well-crafted products that appeal to customers looking for both aesthetics and functionality in their living spaces. The company values employee growth and career development by providing comprehensive product and sales training programs.
The role available at the Spokane, WA location at 319 West Riverside Dr is for a full-time Delivery Driver, offering a competitive pay rate of $23 per hour. This position is non-exempt and requires a 40-hour workweek. The Delivery Driver will be the face of the brand, representing Scandinavian Designs - Dania Furniture to customers during in-home and on-site furniture delivery and assembly. The position involves delivering excellent customer service and ensuring a seamless and positive experience for clients.
In this role, the driver will be responsible for safely operating large box trucks, maintaining timely delivery schedules, and inspecting vehicles before and after trips to ensure everything is in excellent condition. The driver must guarantee the safe handling, transport, and delivery of merchandise, including properly loading and unloading furniture while following all safety protocols. Assembly skills and offering repairs or added value services when needed are also key components of the job.
Additionally, the Delivery Driver will actively communicate with customers via phone, email, and text to confirm delivery details and provide accurate service information. The job may require long-distance driving, which could include overnight stays with provided per diem allowances. A proactive approach to assisting with showroom changes, tagging merchandise, maintaining displays, and keeping showroom and backroom areas clean and organized is expected. The Delivery Driver will also greet clients and answer phones politely and professionally while maintaining in-depth product knowledge to support customer needs effectively.
This position requires successful completion of pre-employment screens including a drug test, physical (to obtain the DOT Medical Card which the company pays for), background check, and motor vehicle record verification. The role is subject to random and post-accident drug screening. Scandinavian Designs - Dania Furniture supports veterans and encourages applications from former service members, offering a preferred veteran hiring process. They uphold an inclusive work environment and consider applicants from all backgrounds, orientations, expressions, and identities equally.
Being part of Scandinavian Designs - Dania Furniture means working in a dynamic and supportive atmosphere where work-life balance is promoted, and employees gain access to valuable benefits such as health insurance options, 401(k) plans, paid time off, tuition assistance, and significant merchandise discounts. The company places emphasis on both employee satisfaction and customer experience, making the Delivery Driver an essential role in their continued success and reputation for excellence.
