With a rich history and culture emphasizing internal career growth, comprehensive training programs, and continuous improvement, US Foods stands as one of the largest and most trusted companies in the food distribution industry. The company serves a diverse range of customers, including restaurants, healthcare and hospitality providers, government entities, and educational institutions, ensuring they have the products and services necessary to meet their culinary needs. US Foods prides itself on fostering a supportive environment where employees are encouraged to develop professionally and contribute meaningfully to the organization’s success. Their dedication to promoting from within and providing excellent benefits makes US Foods an attractive employer in the logistics and transportation sector.

The role of a Delivery Driver at US Foods is a critical position that blends driving skills, customer service, and operational efficiency to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food products. This full-time, Monday through Friday position offers early morning shifts starting between 4 am and 8 am, with the advantage of being home daily. The compensation for this role starts at $21.85 per hour, with opportunities for overtime, retention bonuses, and additional pay components, potentially exceeding $35.00 per hour for eligible candidates with foodservice experience. New hires may also qualify for a retention bonus of up to $10,000, reflecting US Foods’ commitment to rewarding dedicated and skilled drivers.

Delivery drivers at US Foods are responsible for safely navigating assigned routes while adhering to all DOT regulations and safety standards. They handle essential tasks such as unloading products using equipment like two-wheelers or pallet jacks, verifying delivery accuracy, obtaining customer signatures, and sometimes managing collections. A key part of this role is providing professional and courteous customer service, which helps maintain strong relationships with US Foods’ clients. Drivers perform vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure equipment is roadworthy, contributing to safety and efficiency. Physical demands include lifting and transporting heavy loads (20 to 80 pounds) and working in various weather conditions with multiple stops per shift.

Candidates must meet strict requirements including registration with the FMCSA Clearinghouse, a valid CDL Class A license with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications, and a minimum age of 21. Prior commercial driving experience, preferably in the food or beverage delivery industry, is also required. The ability to read and communicate effectively in English and operate manual transmission vehicles, when necessary, are important for job performance.

US Foods values its drivers as the face of the company and a vital part of its operational success. The company’s culture is built on integrity, reliability, and collaboration, supporting employees to thrive on and off the road. Benefits for this role include comprehensive health insurance options, retirement plans, paid time off, disability coverage, and an employee stock purchase plan.
