Job Description

US Foods is one of the largest food distributors in the United States, playing a vital role in the foodservice industry by delivering quality products and excellent customer service. With a strong culture focused on promoting from within, continuous improvement, and outstanding training programs, US Foods is committed to the success and growth of its associates. The company places a high emphasis on integrity, reliability, and building trusting relationships with its customers, making it a respected name in the foodservice distribution sector.

This role is for a US Foods Delivery Driver, a critical position that helps ensure customers receive their products safely and on time. As a delivery driver, you will be responsible for managing daily routes that include 10 to 15 stops over 8 to 12 hour shifts, working a 5 to 6 day schedule including weekends, with dispatch starting between 3:00 AM and 5:00 AM. This position allows you to be home daily. Drivers typically earn $32.00 an hour initially, with a raise to $35.55 an hour after 90 days, making this a financially rewarding opportunity.

The role involves safely driving trucks, delivering an array of food and beverage products to customers, and ensuring accurate and timely delivery. You will carefully unload items using equipment such as pallet jacks and two-wheelers, and place products in the designated customer storage areas, maintaining a high level of care and precision. Ensuring delivery accuracy means obtaining proper customer signatures and handling collections or payments when applicable. Customer service is a key component of this role, requiring professionalism and the ability to foster positive customer experiences.

Drivers also perform essential pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the safety and readiness of their equipment. Physical demands include the ability to repeatedly lift, carry, push, or pull 20 to over 80 pounds, and being capable of working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops. The role requires a valid CDL Class A license with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications, as well as registration to the FMCSA Clearinghouse system, which maintains essential compliance and safety standards.

At US Foods, drivers are valued as crucial members of the team who uphold the company’s core values of work ethic, collaboration, and service. The company offers Total Rewards programs that include health insurance, retirement benefits, paid time off, and other employee-centric programs designed to support a balanced and rewarding career. Drivers have opportunities for advancement thanks to US Foods’ belief in promoting internally and providing excellent training and support.

Overall, this role is an excellent opportunity for dependable, motivated drivers seeking a stable career in the food distribution industry with competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and the backing of one of the industry’s leading companies. US Foods not only helps its customers Make It, but also supports its employees in making it professionally and personally.
